This is a very beautiful Deville et Cie, "Le Non Pareil", Model Number 360B , probably manufactured during the late 1920's. The stove is much sort after because of its wonderfully ornate early Deco design. The stove was manufactured by Deville in Charleville in the Ardennes; they became famous across France, for their quality and styling.
The original foundry was set up in 1848 by the Corneau brothers whom then joined up with Albert Deville and Paillette. In 1886 the company became known as Deville-Charleville and were producing a range of cookers and heaters.
They still exist today making a range of heating /cooking appliances, although I have to add that the new stoves have none of the charm of their predecessor's! With its new stainless steel bio ethanol burner the stove does not require a chimney or flue. The stove is 100% efficient; no heat being lost via a flue or chimney. The burner, fitted on a slider, is easy to access and refill , via the side door. The stove is fitted with a modified firebox , suitable for bioethanol use. The stove can be sited in any suitable room, remembering that like all stoves it will get very hot! One litre of bio ethanol fuel, gas lighter and instructions will be supplied with the stove.
I will be happy to advise on any technical details, historical details or installation/operation questions. The stove still retains its original ash catcher and operating tool (picture 6).
The stove has the following, approximate, dimensions and burner specifications. Burner: Stainless Steel, capacity 1.0 litre. Burn time: aproximately 3.5 - 4 hrs+, depending on burner settings and operating conditions. Output: aproximately 1.8kw maximum, depending on burner settings and operating conditions. Minimum room size: 38 cubic meters (recommended). My conversions follow the 2015 EU heath and safety guidelines on air quality when burning bioethanol; especially when used in an enclosed space. Simply put, high output burners are only suitable for larger rooms. If you require further information or questions on use or installation, please contact me.
