Le Caloric wood burning stove has a long and interesting manufacturing history, first appearing around 1925. The stove was unique in its internal design, Caloric claimed that the stove was 60% more efficient than other woodburners and continued this claim throughout its manufacturing history.

The stove had several changes in its exterior appearence, the last model being manufactured around 1957. This model was probably made just after WW2 with its classic stylised sunbeam castings. With its new stainless steel bio ethanol burner the stove does not require a chimney or flue. The stove is 100% efficient; no heat being lost via a flue or chimney. The adjustable burner is easy to access and refill.

The stove is fitted with a modified firebox , suitable for bioethanol use. The stove can be sited in any room, remembering that like all stoves it will get very hot!

One litre of bio ethanol fuel, gas lighter, adjustable burner and instructions will be supplied with the stove. I will be happy to advise on any technical details, historical details or installation/operation questions. The stove has the following, approximate, dimensions and burner specifications. Burner: Stainless Steel, capacity 1.0 liter. Burn time: aproxiately 4hr, depending on burner setting operating conditions.
